Fall/Spring/Summer 2012/2013
The University of Science and Technology in Beijing invites qualified teachers to submit applications to teach during the Fall 2012/Spring/Summer 2013 terms
Positions
USTB is looking for Native speakers of English to teach courses to Chinese University students ranging in age from 18-25. Courses consist primarily of Oral English, but other courses (Culture, Literature, and Academic Writing) may be available depending on qualifications.
Qualifications for appointment
Applicants should be native-speakers of English (US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand).
Applicants should also possess:
1) A degree from a recognized and accredited University or College (BA, MA, PhD)
2) A minimum of TWO (2) years teaching experience, preferably ESL based, at secondary levels or above.
Degrees are preferred in English or other Humanities (Education, History, Sociology). Applicants with a degree in other fields but holding a current TOEFL/TESL/CELTA certification with at least TWO years’ experience teaching at the University level are also welcome to apply.
Term of contract
The appointment will normally be on a one-year contract from Sep. 1, 2012 to Jul. 2013. It covers Fall 2012/Spring and Summer 2013 terms.
Salary and Benefits
- Salary ranges from 3000 – 5000 RMB a month (for 11 months) based on a combination of qualification and experience.
- Flight reimbursement up to 9000 RMB total (4500 RMB to Beijing, 4500 RMB leaving)
- Free furnished accommodation on campus: these are two bedroom suites with TV, Telephone, Washing Machine, AC/Heating, Fridge, basic kitchen facilities, and Internet access.
- Reimbursed medical care.
- Paid winter vacation (paid summer vacation for teachers renewing contracts)
Yearly pay raises with each contract renewal after the second or above year of continuous service.
