Yokohama National University Sends Delegation to USTB
On September 24th, a delegation led by Prof. 铃木邦雄, president of Yokohama National University (YNU), paid a visit to USTB. USTB President Zhang Xinxin, Prof. Song Bo from the Civil and Environmental Engineering School and Prof. Guo Kanjun, deputy director of the International Office, met with the delegation.
President Zhang expressed his welcome to the guests and gave an overview of the basic information on USTB including its history, disciplines and masters education programs, especially its latest developments in exchange and cooperation with other countries and regions. Regarding going global integration as a significant channel for leapfrog development, USTB, according to President Zhang, attached great importance to pragmatic cooperation programs with foreign universities, hoping to achieve the next level in teaching and scientific research with cooperation with YNU.
In return for the hospitality of USTB, president 铃木邦雄 gave a brief introduction of YNU. YNU is one of leading national universities in Japan. YNU has remained in the lead in graduating individuals equipped with both practical knowledge and skills to be successful in society. In research, YNU has published numerous findings that are recognized globally, beyond Japan’s cultural and industrial boundaries. YNU looked forward to further cooperating with USTB programs.
The two sides also discussed their in-depth cooperation plan concerning doctoral students under the Chinese Government Graduate Student Overseas Study Program, joint training of the postgraduates, teacher exchange and scientific research.
The delegation visited the History Museum and the lab of the Civil and Environmental Engineering School after the meeting. Afterwards, both vice-president 山田均and Prof. 小长井一男 each delivered academic reports for students from the Civil and Environmental Engineering School.
