University of Missouri Director of Asian Affairs Center Visits USTB

On the afternoon of April 6, Sang S. Kim, Director of Asian Affairs Center at the University of Missouri, USA, visited USTB. The guests were met by Guo Kanjun, Director of the International Office of USTB. Both sides began by briefing the other on the history, current situation, and academic strengths of their respective university. They then discussed improving Sino-US ties and communication for the purpose of promoting teacher training, student and teacher exchanges, as well as other aspects of cooperation.

School Description: the University of Missouri, also known as “Mizzou”, was established in 1839 in Columbia, Missouri. At that time it was the first university west of the Mississippi River, and today is one of the most prestigious in Missouri’s university system. It is composed of four campuses located in Columbia, Rolla, Kansas City, and St. Louis, with over 63,000 students in attendance.

The University of Missouri is one of the top 100 universities in the US, and has been selected along with 34 other American universities to be part of the Association of American Universities (AAU) and part of the Carnegie Endowment for Higher Education.

USTB and the University of Missouri first established their partnership in 2011.
