2014 Overseas Programs Open Day Held

On 12th December, 2014, the Overseas Programs Open Day was held in the Academic Hall of USTB. Prof. Luo Weidong, the party secretary of USTB, Prof. Wang Ge, the assistant of president, and other USTB directors come from different faculties and related departments and nearly 200 students attended as well.

 
The Overseas Programs report was divided in two parts, the first part called “Exchange Experiences Sharing” and the second part called “Project Consulting”. During the first part, exchange student representatives who studied at Purdue University, University of California, San Diego, Lancaster University and Feng Chia University shared their studies and living experiences in the presence of teachers and students. Their presentations received a terrific response. There were two video recorded by students who are now studying in Swansea University and CUEFEE also showed their overseas life to audiences. Meanwhile, the exchange student from Taiwan introduced her study and living experiences in USTB.
 
After “Exchange Experiences Sharing” part, Prof. Luo Weidong, the party secretary of USTB, delivered the concluding speech. First, he expressed his sincere wishes and kind thoughts to all students. Then, he mentioned four changes: the demands of world are changing; learning purposes are changing; learning methods are changing; and life styles are changing. Therefore, studying abroad provides a great opportunity for personal development, allowing students to go abroad to communicate, and to learn and to contribute to the betterment of China.
 
During the second part, an information session was held. Officers from the Graduate School and International Office introduced some exchange programs and answered questions.
 
The 2014 Overseas Programs Open Day could benefit students to learn more about exchange programs, to make a reasonable study plan and to be adequately prepared for studying abroad.
