McMaster University sends delegation to USTB
On October 30th, Prof. Mo Elbestawi, vice president of McMaster University brought a delegation to USTB. Prof. Zhang Xinxin, president of USTB, Prof. Wang Ge, assistant to the president and Prof. Guan Zhian from Dongling School of Economics and Management met with the delegation.
President Zhang welcomed the delegation and gave a brief introduction on the history of USTB and its achievements in talent training, teaching, and scientific research. He was convinced that the two schools could cooperate effectively, as Kanagawa University has good relations with China and many USTB alumni had previously studied in Kanagawa University. USTB believes that deeper cooperation between the two universities will become even more extensive and intensive in the future.
In return for the hospitality of USTB, vice president Mo Elbestawi gave an overview of McMaster University’s latest achievements with an emphasis on the university’s international strategy. Both sides expressed that they need to conduct further collaboration on scientific research, which could create a solid foundation for a healthy and stable USTB-MMU relationship.
After the meeting, USTB and MMU signed a cooperation agreement. In addition, USTB named Prof. Mo Elbestawi as an honorary professor of USTB in recognition of his academic achievements and authority in mechanical manufacturing. President Zhang awarded the medal to Prof. Mo Elbestawi on the morning of October 30th. Afterwards, Prof. Mo Elbestawi delivered a report about McMaster University’s new research projects and led a discussion with students.
