Enrique Lavernia of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering Visits USTB

On November 2, 2017, Professor Enrique Lavernia, Vice President of the University of California, Irvine, and member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering visited USTB. He was met by Secretary Wu Guilong, Professor Wang Luning, Dean of the School of Materials, Guo Kanjun, Director of the International Office, and Professor Zhao Zhiyi, Associate Dean of the Institute of Higher Education. The two sides then engaged in discussions regarding cooperation between their respective institutions.

Afterwards at the invitation of the Institute of Materials, Professor Lavernia delivered a presentation at the 92^nd Forum for Chinese Materials Scientists entitled “Grain Growth Phenomena: From the Nanoscale to the Microscale”. Professor Wang Ruining, Dean of the School of Materials, presided over the Forum, and Secretary Wu Guilong presented an honorary professorship to Professor Lavernia.
