President of Taipei University of Technology Visits USTB

On May 15th, Prof. Leeter Yao , President of the Taipei University of Technology visited USTB. Prof. Zhang Xinxin, President of USTB, and Prof. Wang Ge, Director of the Office of H.K., Macao and Taiwan Affairs met with the delegation.

Discussed at the meeting were the successful cooperation efforts between the two universities in student exchange programs and cross-strait projects. The two universities of science and technology both expressed their wish to extend their cooperative efforts in academic exchanges and collaborative research. Because academic degrees awarded by ‘Project 211’ universities in the mainland (USTB included) have been acknowledged by Taiwan , the two universities would also work on ‘dual/joint degree’ training programs targeted at postgraduate students. Both sides also agreed to establish a joint research center to strengthen the lines of communication between teachers.

Before this meeting, the delegation was received by Prof. Luo Weidong, Chancellor of USTB.
