Hokkaido University Renewed Cooperation Agreement with USTB
On December 21, Prof. Naoshi Baba, the Dean of the Graduate School of Engineering, Hokkaido University, visited USTB and signed a cooperative agreement with our school. Prof. Xu Jinwu, President of USTB, Prof. Zhang Yue, Vice-President of USTB, and Prof. Wang Ge, Director of the International Office, met with the delegation and extended their warmest welcome.
During the meeting, Prof. Xu, President of USTB, briefed the guests on the history of the friendly relations and cooperation between USTB and Hokkaido University. The two universities shared a lot in terms of disciplinary setting and research orientation, and have opened many new prospects since the signing of The Cooperative Agreement in 1986: USTB was the very first Chinese university that Hokkaido signed a Cooperative Agreement with and shared the most profound and comprehensive Collaboration with. Through 25 years of joint efforts, USTB and Hokkaido University have enlarged their fields of cooperation from engineering to information and law, enriched the student programs from exchange programs to short-term internships and student summer camps, held 11 bilateral symposia successfully and had over 200 professors in academic exchange programs.
In the end Prof. Xu expressed his sincere wish for further future collaboration with Hokkaido University. Prof. Naoshi Baba believed that there was still room for improvement in our relationship and hoped that through this meeting, exchange and cooperation would be more extensive.
