President of Almaty Management University Visits USTB

On the morning of April 20, Mr. Kanagatova Almagul, President of the Almaty Management University in Kazakhstan, visited USTB and was met by President Zhang Xinxin. The two sides discussed mutual cooperation between the universities, including student and teacher exchanges.

                President Zhang began by welcoming the delegation during USTB’s 65th anniversary celebrations. He then spoke of Almaty Management University’s strengths in management and communications, which provided broad opportunities for collaboration between the two schools. President Almagul expressed her hope that the meeting between the two presidents would open up chances for cooperative projects, and wishes USTB congratulations on its 65th anniversary.

                The two sides discussed how to work together under the guidance of the “One Belt, One Road” project that had brought together China and Kazakhstan. They agreed to carry out mutually beneficial programs in cultural exchanges, scientific research, and student and teacher exchange-programs.

                After the meeting the guests visited the USTB history museum to learn more about the university’s impressive 65 year history.

                The visit helped to improve mutual understanding between USTB and Almaty Management University, opening up opportunities for greater collaboration in the future. Also there to meet the guests were Yan Xiangbin, Dean of the School of Economics, Guo Kanjun, Director of the International Office, Li Baoming, Deputy Director of the International Student Center, and Professor Lu Minxu of the New Materials Institute.
