USTB President Meets Prof. Seetharaman from Warwick

On Aug. 21st, Prof. Zhang Xinxin, President of USTB, met with Prof. Sridhar Seetharman, a visiting scholar from the University of Warwick. Prof. Seetharman is also a scientist with Tata Steel and the Royal Academy of Engineering.

President Zhang welcomed Prof. Seetharman. He informed the professor thatDebashishBhattacharjee, the director of Tata Steel in charge of research, development and technology, would visit USTB in July. He said that USTB and Tata Steel had reached an initial agreement to jointly establish a research center. The current cooperative projects between USTB and Tata steel is believed to be beneficial for both parties.

Speaking well of USTB’s students,research projects and itscampus, Prof. Seetharaman was highly supportive of Tata steel’s continued cooperation with the school in building the research center. He hoped that with this research center as a platform for cooperation, the two sides could further strengthen their collaborative efforts in research and technology.

President Zhang honored Prof. Seetharman with a visiting professor certificate after the meeting.
