Yokohama National University Sends Delegation to USTB

On July 7th, a delegation led by Prof. Hitoshi Yamada and Prof. 沟口周二, two vice-presidents of Yokohama National University (YNU), paid a visit to USTB. USTB President Zhang Xinxin met with the delegation.

President Zhang expressed his welcome to the guests and thanked Prof. Yamada for his constant attention paid to USTB since his last year’s visit. Later on, the guests were informed of the basic information about USTB, especially its latest developments of exchange and cooperation with other countries and regions. Regarding going global as a significant channel for leapfrog development, USTB, according to President Zhang, attached great importance to pragmatic cooperation programs with foreign universities, hoping to achieve win-win development through this way.    

In response, Vice-president Yamada updated the USTB president on YNU’s latest moves in globalization. Having established an international center in Beijing, YNU looks forward to cooperating with USTB in teachers’ and students’ exchange programs, joint scientific researches and joint training programs of doctoral students. The two sides also discussed over their future cooperation plan.    

The delegation toured around the school campus and visited the lab of the Civil and Environmental Engineering School after the meeting.
