Vice President of Taiwan University of Science and Technology visits USTB
In the afternoon of July 10, 2014, Prof. Li Duzhong, Vice President of Taiwan University of Science and Technology and Director Guo Yulin of Mainland Affairs Office visited USTB. Prof. Wang Ge, Assistant to the President met with the guests.
Prof. Wang provided some basic information on USTB and our projects with universities in Taiwan like student exchange, teacher communication as well as the joint research funding plan. Vice President Li also gave a brief introduction of the achievements they had made in recent years and invited school leaders in USTB to NTUST’s 40th anniversary celebration. They held an in-depth discussion on the topics related to teaching, scientific research and international development. Later, Vice President Li and Director Guo visited the History Museum and some laboratories in USTB.
In the evening, President Zhang Xinxi met with the delegation of NTUST.
NTUST and USTB established cooperative relations in 2008. So far, over 30 students have been sent to NTUST for exchange programs and more than 70 teachers and students from NTUST have been here for Cross-Strait activities or exchange programs. Moreover, there have been frequent exchanges in the fields of industry and commerce design and building between the teachers in NTUST and USTB.
