On the morning of October 9, President Anders Hederstierna of the Blekinge Institute of Technology in Sweden led a five-person delegation to USTB. They were met by USTB representatives including President Zhang Xinxin and discussed collaboration in the fields of machinery, automation, computers and student exchanges.
President Zhang welcomed the visiting delegation and briefed them regarding USTB’s accomplishments, especially in the areas of automation and machinery. He spoke of how our school attaches great importance to its collaboration with the Blekinge Institute of Technology. President Hederstierna thanked President Zhang for the warm welcome, and expressed his hope that the two universities would work even closer together in the future, especially in regards to scientific research and the exchange of both students and teachers.
Afterwards the visiting delegation visited the schools of automation and mechanical engineering to engage with the faculty and students there.
The visit by the Swedish delegation helped to lay the foundations for future collaboration between the two universities. Present at the meeting were Qiao Hong, dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering, Guo Kanjun, director of the International Office, Ning Huansheng, vice dean of the School of Communications, and Zhang Zhaohui, vice president of the School of Automation.
