USTB’s Vice-president Wang Ge Signs Agreement with Beijing Chinese Language and Culture College
On July 9, 2015, USTB Vice-president Wang Ge visited the Beijing Chinese Language and Culture College where she was received by President Zhou Feng. There she toured the campus, visiting classrooms, the library, and an art collection exhibition hall. She was accompanied by Zhao Liying, director of International Student Center, and deputy director Li Baoming.
President Zhou welcomed the delegation and introduced his institution, detailing its relocation and the development of the new campus. He expressed his hope that his college and USTB would be able to work together more closely in the future. Vice-President Wang thanked him for the welcome and then proceeded to introduce USTB and students’ work had been undertaking. She discussed how USTB places great importance on graduate education and how in the previous year USTB had invited foreign students to help celebrate its 60th anniversary. She concluded that the university would work hard to continue improving its education, and she concurred by expressing her wishes that the two institutions would be able to collaborate in the future.
Subsequently, USTB’s director Zhao Liying and director Zhang Derui, Office of Development Planning and Academic Research, served as representatives in signing a cooperative agreement between the two schools, which will undertake joint 1+3 training programs.
Beijing Chinese Language and Culture College, founded in 1950, is subordinate to the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council of China (OCAO), and it’s the only one institution specialized in Chinese teaching in China. In 2013 the college was relocated, and currently has over 2000 students and 100 teachers.
