The 9th USTB-NPUST Academic Seminar was Held

 On 8^TH December, ‘CIRCULAR ECONOMY AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT ‘ the 9^th USTB-NPUST Academic Seminar was held successfully in USTB.

 

The seminar was held in the meeting room of the Tian gong building. There were 15 people in the delegation from NPUST. The president of USTB, Zhang Xinxin, and directors come from different schools attended as well. Wang Ge, the assistant of president, served as the hostess of the seminar.

 

President Zhang Xinxin delivered the welcome speech. He said that exchange students, interaction between visiting teachers, and research cooperation all result in positive influence for building and developing the relationship between these two universities. Cooperation has involved broadening areas of exchange and communication, showing a positive trend for future initiative. He hoped that the cooperation between students of the two universities willcontribute to ongoing excellence in academic performance.

 

Changxian Dai, the president of NPUST, also spoke before the audience. President Dai cited some examples in daily life, analyzing how to keep balance among economy, society and environment in order to boost the development of economy and society. Cooperation between USTB and NPUDT has been built over several years and have produced a wide range of achievements. It was generally agreed by both universities that they should embrace their advantages to create new breakout and positive initiatives.

 

At the opening ceremomy, President Zhang and President Dai exchanged gifts. They both hoped that the good friendship between their universities would continue. Prof. Hai Lin from USTB and Prof. Hexian Chen both delivered seperate reports, at the invitation of Chairman Weidong Luo.

 

            

 

In the afternoon, four seminars were held at The School of Materials Science and Engineering, the School of Mechanical Engineering, the School of Civil Engineering and Environment and the School of Humanity and Law. The teachers and students were divided into groups according to their specialties and professional background.

 

In the following days, teachers and students visited Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City , the Great wall and the Summer Palace. The participants reported very good impressions of all the sites and the overall program.
