Graduate Student “Letter to the Teacher” Event Held

In November of 2016 the second “Letter to the Teacher” event was held. On November 24, coinciding with Thanksgiving Day, students used a variety of methods to contact teachers in order to express their gratitude for their work and teaching services. Many students also took the time to visit their mentors and professors to deliver their thanks in person and take photos together, creating an atmosphere of respect and gratitude for the teacher’s work.

         “Dear Teacher, Happy Thanksgiving Day!”,”Best teachers are those who help find strengths, drive away tears, overpower demons and conquer fears and you are one of them. Bundles of thanks.” “Dear teacher, I have much to say, but today from the heart I want to express…” “Dear teacher, this winter I want to express my deepest gratitude…” Although the students presented simple cards, their words of heartfelt meaning were greatly cherished by the recipients.

         The “Letter to the Teacher” event was successfully organized and held by the USTB International Office. Though done in a simple way, the activity inspired great enthusiasm amongst the students and caused them to get into the thanksgiving spirit of expressing their gratitude to their mentors, finally helping to set up a foundation for future communication between student and teacher.
