President of De Montfort University visits USTB

On March 3rd, 2013, Prof. Dominic Shellard, President of De Montfort University, leading a delegation of four, visited USTB. Prof. Luo Weidong, Chancellor of USTB met with the delegation. Both sides discussed matters relating to preparatory work for the DMU Confucius Institute. Prof. Peng Yi, Dean of the School of Foreign Studies, USTB, and Prof. Wang Ge, Director of the International Office joined the meeting.

Chancellor Luo extended his heartfelt welcome to President Shellard. Through consultation, both sides reached an agreement on the recruitment of the Dean and teachers for the DMU Confucius Institute, as well as details concerning its opening ceremony and cultural exchange activities that would be organized by the Institute.

Since the authorization by Hanban of the DMU Confucius Institute, matters have been progressing smoothly. According to the plan, the DMU Confucius Institute will officially open and enroll students this September.
