Taiwan Jingyi University Delegation Visits USTB

          On the morning of June 3 Secretary-General of the University of Taiwan, Professor of International Business Deng Jiahong and Lu Fumei, Head of the Continental Affairs Office of the International and Cross-strait Affairs Office, visited USTB. Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office Director Guo Kanjun met with the guests. The two sides held friendly and cooperatives talks.

       During the talks, the two sides jointly reviewed the achievements of cooperation between the two schools since the establishment of relations in 2009. These included achievements in student exchange, short-term summer training programs and cross-strait youth exchange activities. Each side expressed hope for future student and teacher exchanges, as well as carrying out academic visits, joint research and so on. The two sides also proposed "3 +1" special classes, with students having the opportunity to study at both universities and even prepare for courses in Europe and the USA. Through extensive and in-depth exchanges, future collaboration between the schools is sure to result in a win-win situation.

       Introduction to Jingyi University:

       Jingyi University (aka Providence University, PU) is located in Taizhong County, and its history can be traced back to 1932, while being officially founded in 1956. Jingyi University is a Catholic University founded by six nuns from the USA. It is committed to providing a unique educational experience to every student, with the goal of putting students first. It has 6 colleges (foreign language, humanities and social sciences, science, management, information, international college), 24 departments, 23 master degrees, 2 doctoral degrees, 7 master's special degrees, as well as general education center, foreign language teaching center, reading and writing creative research and development center, and teacher training center.
