2014 CCEEE Autumn Study on Energy Efficiency in Industry Held in Beijing

From the 23th to 26th of October, the 2014 CCEEE Autumn Study on Energy Efficiency in Industry was held in the National Convention Center in Beijing, hosted by the Energy Research Institute National Development and Reform Commission, Energy Foundation China, China National Institute of Standardization and University of Science and Technology Beijing. The theme of the symposium was “Industrial Energy Efficiency and Regional Haze”. Over 200 people were invited to attend the meeting, including leaders from ministries and commissions, domestic and international experts, and industry figures.

Lovins, cofounder and chairman emeritus of the Rocky Mountain Institute, Lynn Price, leader of the China Energy Group in the Energy Analysis and Environmental Impacts Department of the Environmental Energy Technologies Division of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Thomas Dreessen,

Several experts from both UOW and USTB were invited to attend the meeting together with teachers and students from the School of Materials Science and Engineering at USTB. Prof. Wang Ge attended and delivered the welcoming speech.

Guangdi Xu, a famous expert in iron and steel metallurgy, and one of the members of the Chinese Academic Engineering, sent congratulations to the 2014 CCEEE Autumn Study on Energy Efficiency in Industry. He spoke highly of the importance of the Energy Research Institute National Development and Reform Commission in terms of doing research for energy efficiency economy and prevention and alleviation of regional haze. He pointed out that ‘this is a new area of the development of the economy, which can also bring a range of positive effects in other related fields.

Yunhu Gao, the minister of Industry and Information Energy Saving Technology, also delivered a speech. He said that University saving-industry Union and Energy Efficiency in Industry Union can make a great contribution to build an environmentally friendly society.

The successful conclusion of the 2014 CCEEE Autumn Study on Energy Efficiency in Industry accelerated the development of the energy efficiency industry. More importantly, it also enhanced the level of academic exchange and international standing of USTB.­
