A Russian Students’ Meeting Held at USTB

On Mar. 26th, 2013, USTB’s International Office hosted a meeting for the Russian students on campus.

Zhao Liying, Vice-Director of the International Office, delivered a speech on the close and cordial relations shared between Russia and China. She encouraged Russian students to take a leading role in maintaining close contact with the teachers from the International Students Office. In the same regard, she let the students know that the teachers would be happy to help with any problems or issues that they may come across during their USTB experience.

A number of issues were discussed at the meeting, and leaders and teachers from the International Office listened to opinions, thoughts and suggestions from the students. Some of the problems were promptly responded to, such as housing.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the students agreed to keep in close contact with the International Office and raise any future concerns that they had with their teachers. Furthermore, the students agreed to devote themselves to learning, observing the principles of USTB and participating in the student unions and activities offered by the International Office.

International Students Office plans to host more meetings of this nature in the future. The gatherings provide excellent platforms for international students to voice their concerns and allow the school a better opportunity to help these students overcome any problems that they may have. These meetings are part of a larger effort by USTB to perfect its education and management of present and future international students.
