Heads of departments and faculties proposed a toast to all the attending teachers and students, wishing everyone good luck and good health in the year of the snake.
In this soiree, fascinating performances were staged, prepared and rehearsed by international students and teachers from the International Office. They danced, performed acrobatics and short sketches, pushing the soiree to a new high.
The International Office and international students have achieved great achievements in recent years. Firstly, the debating team of international students from USTB set a new personal best, finishing in third place in the 4th Chinese Debating Contest of International Students in Universities in Beijing. Secondly, international students made great achievements in academia this year. For example, Pakistani student QURAT UL AIN published six essays on SCI and three essays on EI. Thirdly, a large number of students were awarded international scholarships granted by USTB and the Chinese government. These scholarships were given in recognition of their academic achievements, and in honor of these excellent international students, school leaders also granted awards to their teachers for being outstanding coaches.
USTB is looking forward to hearing more good news from international students in 2013.
