Vice-President of Hosei University Pays A Visit to USTB

On March 15th, 2013, Prof. Fukuda Yoshiro, Vice-Principal of Hosei University, visited USTB. Prof. Zhang Xinxin, President of USTB, and Prof. Wang Ge, Director of the International Office, met with the delegation.

Prof. Zhang extended his warmest welcome to the delegation and provided a brief introduction of USTB.

Prof. Yoshiro then introduced the delegation from USTB to the history and specializations of Hosei University. He expressed his institution’s wish to forge ties with USTB and mentioned that Hosei University has been committed diversifying its international connections in recent years.

Believing that this could deepen the relationship between Japan and China, each year over 40 students from Hosei University get the chance to study in China, while many Chinese students are furthering studies on Hosei University’s campus as well.

Because Hosei University also has School of Science and Engineering, Prof. Yoshiro hoped that further cooperation could be extended into these fields. Prof. Yoshiro also expressed his anticipation of a reciprocal visit by a delegation led by Prof. Zhang to Hosei University.

For his part, Prof. Zhang expressed his wish to begin cooperation with Hosei University in the student exchange of Japanese majors and gradually expand the fields of cooperation into other majors such as Law. Since USTB built its reputation in the fields of materials science and metallurgical engineering, and is quickly developing its strength in chemistry and physics, the exchange could include these majors in the near future.
