Vice-president WANG Ge Attends 2015 Cross-strait Innovation and Entrepreneurship University Alliance Forum
From May 5 to May 9, 2015, Vice-president WANG Ge attended the 2015 Cross-strait Innovation and Entrepreneurship University Alliance Forum in Taiwan.
At the forum, participants agreed to maximize the alliance’s advantage in resources and position the alliance as collaboration platform. The alliance will enhance resource sharing and cooperation in courses about innovation and entrepreneurship, establish a base to cultivate the innovative talents, and promote cooperation among universities and enterprises. Vice-president Wang delivered a keynote speech entitled “Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the ‘Internet +’ Era” and shared USTB’s best practice in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship education with the audience.
The Cross-strait Innovation and Entrepreneurship University Alliance was initialized by USTB, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Hunan University, and three other universities in mainland, as well as three universities in Taiwan, including Taipei University of Technology, National Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology, National Yunlin University of Science and Technology. The objective of the alliance is to integrate educational resources between mainland and Taiwan, share experiences in regional development, and enhance the cooperation in innovation and entrepreneurship. USTB will be the first mainland university to host the forum in 2016.
During the visit, Vice-president Wang also visited the Taipei University of Technology and met President Yao Lide. They discussed further collaboration between the two universities, including academic exchanges, joint research programs, and carrying out Master’s and doctoral level dual-degree programs. She also met with exchange students from USTB to learn about their lives in Taiwan.
