USTB Celebrates 65th Anniversary and Hosts Globalization & Youth Leadership Forum

In order to strengthen international partnerships and promote cooperative efforts, on the morning of April 21 USTB hosted the Globalization & Youth Leadership Forum. Attending the Forum were over 50 participants, including Zheng Daoming, President of Chaoyang University of Technology, Li Wenlong, Vice President of National Taipei University of Technology, Park Jinsung, President of Sunchon National University, Chongrak Wachrinrat, President of Kasetsart University, James Gardner, Pro Vice-Chancellor of De Montfort University, as well as representatives from the University of Wollongong, University of Dundee, ESTIA Engineering School, and National Pingtung University of Science and Technology.

                President Zhang Xinxin of USTB opened the Forum by warmly welcoming the guests to the university. He spoke of how strengthened international cooperation between universities provided opportunities for students to expand their horizons, gain a global perspective and sense of responsibility, and develop their leadership skills. He concluded by expressing his hope that the Forum would provide a good opportunity for participants to share their experiences and lay the foundation for future cooperative efforts.

                Following that, the participants listened to a number of presentations centered on the theme of “globalization and youth leadership”. There was agreement regarding for students to take on leadership roles the conditions and methods of education were important, and that care had to be taken in addressing challenges so as to promote a sense of responsibility and international stewardship.
