Vice President He Mingqing Leads Delegation to Participate in “2015 Cross Strait Forum on Sustainable Development and Climate Change”

Recently the 11th “Cross Strait Forum on Sustainable Development and Climate Change” was held at the Taiwan Tamkang University. USTB Vice President He Mingqing led a delegation to participate in the forum.

 

The Forum invited experts and scholars from both sides of the strait to discuss issues related to climate change and renewable energy, as well as the liberalization of energy markets. USTB professors from the schools of Material Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Geography Science participated in the “Energy Resources and Haze Control” panel and presented a special presentation, following which both sides engaged in academic exchanges.

 

At the closing of the Forum Vice President He invited the participants to come to USTB the following year to participate in the 12th “Cross Strait Forum on Sustainable Development and Climate Change”.

 

During the Forum Vice President He held talks with Vice President Dai Wanqin of Tamkang University. Vice President He discussed how USTB has pursued a program of open education that attaches great important to international exchange and cooperation. In recent years USTB has formed partnerships and engaged in exchanges with over 150 overseas universities. As of August 2015, USTB has signed agreements with 24 Taiwanese universities which include student exchanges, joint research, co-hosting events and other cooperative activities. Vice President Dai presented on the history of Tamkang University and expressed support for engaging in further cooperative efforts with USTB and short-term student exchanges.

 

 

During the forum the USTB delegation and other participants visited Taiwan’s Yongguang Company to learn about green development, advances in low carbon emissions, climate change, energy efficiency, and other topics.
