Journal of World Languages Launched at USTB

On July 23rd, 2013, the launch event of the Journal of World Languages was held atUSTB. USTB President Zhang Xinxin, International Office Director Wang Ge, Prof. M.A.K Halliday, founder of Systemic Functional Linguistics, Prof. Zhang Jingyuan, president of the School of Foreign Studies and dozens of other scholars and experts in the field of linguistics, at home and abroad, attended the event.

Presided over by Prof. He Wei, vice president of SFS, the event invited Prof. Jonathan Webster from the City University of Hong Kong to make a brief introduction about the journal, including its founding, content and editorial board. Prof. Huang Guowen, chairman of the International Systemic Functional Linguistics Association, expressed his congratulations on the founding of the new linguistic journal.

Founded by USTB together with Sun Yat-sen University and the City University of Hong Kong, and published by Routledge, a world-renowned academic press, the Journal of World Languages aims to promote multi-dimensional and interdisciplinary studieson world languages, and to provide a theoretical basis and language support to communications between various fields.
