Vice President of Yokohama National University Visits USTB

On June 25th, a delegation led by Prof. Hitoshi Yamada, Vice President of Yokohama National University (YNU) visited USTB. Prof. Xie Jianxin, Vice President of USTB, met with the delegation.

During the meeting, Prof. Xie gave an overview of USTB to Prof. Yamada, focusing on its cooperative activities with Japanese universities, including student exchange programs, exchange activities among teachers and researchers as well as bilateral seminars. In response, Prof. Yamada introduced the important steps taken by YNU to go global, such as establishing joint laboratories and hosting the China-Japan-Korea Trilateral Seminar. The two delegations went on to discuss many significant topics concerning educational and cultural exchanges between Chinese and Japanese universities. Representatives from the two universities also furthered their previously signed cooperative agreement, ensuring the feasibility of their plans to start student and teacher exchange programs as well as the establishment of joint laboratories.

After the meeting, Prof. Yamada visited the USTB History Museum and the laboratories of the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
