Taiwan Students Arrive for 2017 Spring Semester

On February 18, 35 Taiwan exchange students arrived at USTB to begin their spring semester. On the morning of February 20 held a welcoming ceremony for the students with leaders from the International Office, while afterwards the students were processed for admissions.

At the meeting administration officials discussed several important topics with the students, including traffic laws, communications, health and medicine, dining, elective courses, the library and other issues. The students then engaged in a Q&A, and afterwards met with student volunteers to help them around campus.

As Spring is just around the corner, the USTB International Office plans to take the students on a trip the Great Wall in the coming months to help give them a chance to appreciate China’s long history and deep culture, as well as the beautiful weather.

This year the Taiwanese exchange students can be found throughout the university and its many college studying a variety of subjects. This year USTB will continue to promote the “one to one” program of pairing students together so as to help the exchange students more easily integrate into campus life. There are also currently 63 USTB students studying in Taiwan. This demonstrates USTB’s continued efforts to build close and lasting ties with Taiwanese universities, and see the increasing benefits of mutual cooperation.
