Ireland’s University of Limerick Delegation Visits USTB

On the afternoon of October 22, VicePresident Mary Shire from the University of Limerick led a delegation to USTB to discuss collaborative efforts. Vice President Sun Dongbai and representatives from the International Office and School of Chemistry and Biologic Engineering warmly greeted the guests.

During the talks the two sides agreed to carry out further cooperation in research and engage in teacher exchanges. Vice President Sun briefly introduced the USTB’s advances in research and its intention to establish a joint research center with the University of Limerick, which would utilize the strengths of each university in the areas of research, innovation, and technical development. Vice President Shire introduced the University of Limerick’s 2015-19 plan, with its intentions to carry out research in the area of economic and social development, and as such they were looking forward to working with USTB. In the future the schools intend to hold routine bilateral seminars, establish a joint research center, and promote academic and teacher exchanges for the benefit of student-training and cultural exchange.

Afterwards the delegation visited the USTB history museum.
