USTB Holds 2016 “Reform of USTB” International Work Assessment

On the morning of March 24, the 2016 “Reform of USTB” International Work Assessment was held in office 306. Pan Fangfang, Director of International Cooperation and Exchange at the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, Professor Ma Wanhua, Director of the International Higher Education Research Center at Peking University, and Professor Xia Guangzhi, Vice Dean of the Shenzhen Graduate School at Tsinghua University, were invited to serve as expert judges at the assessment. USTB President Zhang Xinxin, Vice President Wang Ge, and Directors Guo Kanjun and Zhao Liying of the International Department participated in the assessment meeting.

At the meeting, the work and achievements made in regards to international construction work were summarized, including the establishing of overseas cooperative partnerships, the internationalization of teachers, the cultivation of international talents, and making the system for building international agreements more efficient. The panel of experts listened to the report and congratulated the USTB representatives on the university’s achievements, and gave valuable advice for further improving the school in the coming years.

The strategy of “internationalization” is an important method of promoting the university’s core competences. The “Reform of USTB” International Work Assessment was begun in 2013, with its purpose to help the international development of USTB. It was responsible for establishing the “International Year” promotion program which sought to build new global partnerships and increase communication with USTB partners. The assessment is an opportunity not only for the university to highlight its achievements, but also promote exchange between different departments, and positively promote the internationalization mission of the university.
