US International Education Alliance Visit USTB

On the afternoon of July 8, Executive Vice President Gilbert Mark Stewart of the US International Education Alliance led a delegation to visit USTB. They were met by USTB Vice President Wang Ge, Liu Li, Dean of the Higher Engineering Institute, Song Bo, Director of the Office of Academic Affairs, and Guo Kanjun, Director of the International Department.

         Vice President Wang briefed the delegation on the current status of USTB and its development of engineering education. USTB has actively been working to improve students’ “artisan” spirit and refine their attitude towards learning, paying special attention to the concept of “knowledge and practice”, so as to prepare students for their future work environment. In recent years USTB has become very well known for its collaborative work with universities and industry leaders around the world. Vice President Stewart then discussed innovation and entrepreneurship education in American colleges and universities, reviewed the progress of international engineering education cooperation with USTB, including international engineering education lectures, international engineering education courses and engineering courses internationalization. Subsequently, the two sides agreed to carry out a deeper level of a wider ranging cooperation programs for future talent training.

         Afterwards the American guests visited the school of engineering.
