As part of our commitment to the UN-SDG03 on good health & well-being, the USTB-DMU Confucius Institute(CI)delivered a free workshop on internal martial arts in the CI’s library on Feb 5, 2020for the celebration of the Chinese New Year.

Well-attended, the workshop was presented by Mr. Yun Choi Yeung, Fellow of the Institute of Martial Arts and Sciences.In this 90-minute workshop, Mr. Yeung presented major features of Internal Martial Arts in light of biomechanics and scientific evidence.

The participants enjoyed the opportunity to learn and practice the various techniques through discussion and physical demonstration. They not only learned Internal Martial Arts in a scientific way, but also have learned its practical application such as self-defense in real life.

The workshop is intended as a complement to the CI’s ongoing free Tai Chi session every Saturday morning at New Market Square in the city center. Boththe Martial Arts Workshopand the Tai Chi session will become more regular in the future for the wellbeing of the locals.
